Nothing supplied says whether it sinks
For a food aimed at bottom feeders that is the question you would most like answered, and King British describe the fish rather than the pellet's behaviour in water. Their feeding instruction is also awkward here: two to three feeds a day, each enough to last about two minutes. On a bottom dweller you cannot easily watch that, so the honest approach is to lift out what is left rather than judge by eye. No calorie figure is published.
Why we chose it
Bottom feeders usually get fed by accident, and a food aimed squarely at them is the cheapest fix for that. It comes in two pack sizes and the smaller one is a low enough outlay to find out whether your catfish take to it before committing to a tub.

Full description
A catfish in a community tank is at the wrong end of the queue. Whatever goes in at the top gets first refusal from everything faster, and what finally reaches the gravel is the leftovers, softened. Feeding a bottom dweller properly means putting something down there that was meant for it, rather than hoping enough survives the descent.
This is a complete food for catfish and other bottom-feeding tropical fish, so it is designed to be the whole diet rather than a supplement to flake. Protein is 47%, which is high, and it comes from several places — herring meal and mealworm meal head the list, with mycoprotein, brewer's yeast and salmon oil behind them. Fat is 9%, crude fibre 4% and crude ash 9%. Kelp, dried seaweed, spirulina and garlic flour are in the recipe, and King British state there are no artificial flavours, colourants or preservatives.

Who it's for: keepers of corydoras, plecs, loaches and other bottom dwellers in a tropical tank, especially anyone whose catfish is living on what the tetras drop.

Common questions
Is it a complete food or a supplement?
Complete. King British formulate it as the whole diet for catfish and other bottom-feeding tropical fish, so it is not something you add to flake.
What is the protein and where does it come from?
Protein is 47%. The named sources are herring meal, mealworm meal, mycoprotein, brewer's yeast and salmon oil, alongside kelp, seaweed and spirulina.
Is it grain free?
No. Whole wheat is the second ingredient listed.
How often should it be fed?
King British's instruction is two to three times daily, enough to last about two minutes per feed, with any uneaten food removed.
Does the pellet sink?
King British do not state it. They describe it as a food for bottom-feeding fish, but nothing supplied to us says how it behaves in water.
Which options can I choose from?
60g, 200g. Pick one above before adding to your basket.
