Licking is one of the few activities that reliably settles a cat down, which is the whole idea behind a licking mat — spread something a cat likes across the textured surface and mealtime or treat time turns into a slower, calmer job than eating from a flat bowl.

This is a heart-shaped licking mat in yellow. The makers have not supplied its dimensions, material, or whether it is suction-mounted, so beyond the shape and colour there is nothing further confirmed.

• Heart-shaped design
• Colour: yellow
• Single mat per pack
• Manufacturer part number 87250

What we don't know. No dimensions, material or suction-mounting detail has been supplied for this mat, so we cannot confirm how it stays in place or what it is made from. A licking mat is for supervised use, not for leaving with a cat unattended for long periods.

Who it's for: owners of a cat that eats too fast, or one that benefits from a calming activity at treat time, rather than a plain flat feeding bowl.
