Slowing a cat down at mealtime is mostly a texture problem, and a licking mat solves it by spreading food across a grooved surface a cat has to work at with its tongue rather than gulp from a flat bowl in seconds.

This is a fish-shaped licking mat. The makers have not supplied its dimensions, material, or whether it is suction-mounted, so beyond the shape there is nothing further confirmed.

• Fish-shaped design
• Single mat per pack
• Manufacturer part number 87236

What we don't know. No dimensions, material or suction detail has been supplied for this mat, so we cannot confirm how it stays in place or what it's made from. As with any licking mat, it's for supervised use rather than left with a cat unattended for long periods.

Who it's for: owners of a fast eater or a cat that benefits from a slower, calmer mealtime routine, wanting a shape a bit more fun than a plain flat mat.
