Specifications

Brand: Johnson's

Full description

Grooming is constant for a cat, which means swallowed fur is too — most of it passes through without any trouble, but a build-up in the stomach is just a matter of time for a cat that grooms as thoroughly as most of them do.

This is a malt-flavoured paste Johnson's describe as tasty, aimed at aiding the elimination and prevention of hairballs in cats and kittens. It comes as a 50g tube.

Aids elimination and prevention of hairballs
For cats and kittens

On signs that aren't just hairballs. A paste like this helps hair pass through rather than preventing a cat from swallowing it in the first place — a cat that's frequently vomiting, retching without producing a hairball, or off its food needs a vet check, since those signs can point to something beyond ordinary hairballs.

Who it's for: owners of a cat or kitten prone to hairballs who want a tasty paste rather than something the cat has to be persuaded to accept.

Johnson's Hairball Remedy

Why we chose it

Malt flavour is specifically chosen to be something a cat wants to eat rather than tolerates, which matters for a paste given regularly. It's a straightforward, named-flavour product rather than an unflavoured gel most cats resist.
