Bacteria and viruses don't announce themselves the way mess does — a bed or basket can look and smell perfectly fine while still carrying more than a quick wipe would remove, which is the gap a proper disinfectant is there to close.

This 500ml trigger spray kills bacteria and viruses, and Johnson's describe it as cleaning and disinfecting pet bedding, baskets, litter trays and feeding bowls. They also list it for floors, carpets and other surfaces, leaving a pleasant fresh fragrance behind. It's for dogs and cats.

On rinsing feeding bowls. This is fragranced rather than scent-free, so it's worth rinsing feeding bowls thoroughly before food goes back in them — Johnson's don't give a specific rinse instruction on this listing, so treat that as sensible practice rather than an optional extra.

Who it's for: owners of dogs or cats wanting one disinfectant that covers bedding, baskets, the litter tray and feeding bowls, rather than buying something different for each.
