Specifications

Brand: Johnson's
Food type: Complementary_or_treat

Full description

Canaries are perch-and-peck birds by nature, and a treat that has to be worked at, rather than one that's simply there in a dish, keeps a caged bird doing something closer to what it would do outside one.

This is a 34g seed bell for canaries specifically — the composition is given simply as selected seeds and honey, formed into the hanging bell shape and sold as a complementary treat rather than part of the daily diet.

Composition: selected seeds; honey
Formed as a hanging bell
34G
Sized and marketed for canaries
A complementary treat, not a main diet

what the makers haven't told us. There's no seed-type breakdown, no sugar figure and no energy value given for this one. Use it as an occasional extra to the usual canary seed mix rather than a scheduled addition.

Who it's for: canary owners after a simple hang-and-peck treat for cage enrichment, rather than a supplement with numbers to work from.

Johnson's Canary Seed Bells

Why we chose it

It's sized and sold specifically for canaries rather than as a generic cage-bird treat. That's a small thing, but it means you're not guessing whether a budgie-sized product suits a smaller bird.
