Specifications

Brand: Johnson'S
Food type: Complementary_or_treat

Full description

A budgie left with nothing to peck at will find something to peck at anyway, which is the whole case for a treat that hangs rather than one that sits in a bowl.

This is a 34g seed bell — selected seeds enriched with honey, formed into the bell shape the name describes and sold as a complementary treat rather than a meal. It's meant to hang inside the cage, giving a budgie a fixed target to work at with its beak, which is the same behaviour a plain seed dish never asks for.

Selected seeds enriched with honey
Formed as a hanging bell shape
34G
A complementary treat, not a main diet
Individually wrapped

what the makers haven't told us. There's no seed-type breakdown and no sugar or energy figure supplied for this one, so it isn't possible to say how it compares nutritionally to the seed mix already in the cage. Treat it as an occasional extra rather than a scheduled part of the diet.

Who it's for: budgie owners after a simple, hang-and-peck treat for cage enrichment, rather than a dietary supplement with numbers behind it.

Johnson's Budgie Seed Bells

Why we chose it

It hangs, which matters more than it sounds — a budgie works at a suspended bell in a way it never works at food left in a dish. It's a small, individually wrapped treat, so it's easy to keep a couple spare rather than buying one at a time.
