By the time a cat is old enough to be called senior, the thing most likely to change is not its appetite but how well it chews and how easily its joints keep up.

This is a complete and balanced dry food for cats aged 7 years and over, built around dried chicken and turkey — 37% of the recipe, 22% of that chicken — plus a further 10% fresh chicken. Glucosamine from animal tissues (0.04%) and taurine (0.2%) are both part of the mix, alongside maize and sorghum further down the ingredients list.

• 100% complete and balanced dry food for cats aged 7 years and over
• Protein 35%, fat 12.5%, crude fibre 2%, crude ash 6.8%
• Glucosamine from animal tissues (0.04%) and taurine (0.2%)
• 86% of the protein is animal-based, from dried and fresh chicken and turkey
• Wheat-free recipe, made in a factory that also handles wheat
• 2KG bag

On the wheat-free recipe, precisely. Wheat-free is a genuine claim here, with the usual asterisk: made in a factory that also handles wheat. It is not grain-free, though — both maize and sorghum sit in the composition list — and a previous listing describing it as grain-free was incorrect. At 0.04%, the glucosamine is a small addition alongside the animal protein rather than the main event; IAMS don't publish a comparison to a dedicated joint supplement.

Who it's for: owners of a cat aged 7 or over who want a wheat-free complete food with glucosamine and taurine included as standard, rather than fed separately.
