On the word "fruity"
There is no fruit in the composition. The list is cereals, fats, seeds and ground peanuts, and the fruitiness comes from a flavouring declared among the additives at 600mg/kg — so if you are choosing this because you want to put berries out, it is not what is in the box. Worth knowing too that ground peanuts are in every block, and that no block dimensions are published, so whether they drop into your existing suet cage is not something we can tell you.
Why we chose it
Ten to a pack is the cheapest way to buy suet if you actually get through it, and most people who put one out get through it. Blocks stack and store better than balls, which is the practical reason this is the format on the shelf.

Full description
Small garden birds go into a January night having eaten as much as they can hold and come out of it with very little left. What they need before dusk is not another handful of seed but fat, which is why suet is the winter food and seed is the everyday one.
These are pressed blocks rather than balls, ten to a pack. The composition is cereals, oils and fats including ruminant tallow, seeds and ground peanuts, and the analytical figures are crude protein 8.7% and gross energy 500Kcal/100g. Honeyfields describe them as highly palatable and easy to consume, and aim them at the colder months and the breeding season, when adults are burning energy feeding young.

- Crude protein 8.7%
- Gross energy 500Kcal/100g
- Cereals, oils and fats (including ruminant tallow), seeds, ground peanuts
- Complementary feed for wild birds

Who it's for: anyone who already runs a suet feeder through winter and buys blocks by the box rather than one at a time, and gardens with nesting birds in spring.
