Material: high impact polystyrene - tough enough for the sharpest beaks!
Material: high impact polystyrene - tough enough for the sharpest beaks!

Full description

A drinker that a beak can crack is a drinker that eventually leaks all over the bottom of a cage, which is why the material it is made from matters more than the shape. Hatchwells build this one from a plastic tough enough to shrug off the sharpest beaks rather than the thin type that splits with age.

It is a white plastic drinker with wire hooks that clip onto the bars of a cage, made from high-impact polystyrene and measuring 78mm x 65mm x 40mm.

On the fine print. We are not given a fluid capacity, so we cannot tell you how many days it will hold water for a given bird without checking it yourself once fitted. The card also does not confirm whether the wire hooks are coated or bare metal.

Who it's for: owners of budgies, canaries and similar cage birds who want a simple hook-on drinker that will not crack under a determined beak.

Why we chose it

High-impact polystyrene is the actual reason to pick this over a cheaper drinker — a cracked drinker means a wet cage floor and a bird with no water. The hook fitting also means no drilling or clips, which matters if you are setting a cage up from scratch.
