A cat sniffing at a new pouch is reading the broth and the texture as much as any named meat, which is worth remembering before assuming the flavour on the front tells the whole story of what's inside.

This 6-pack of 45g pouches covers three named flavours in broth. In the beef recipe, meat and animal derivatives include 4% beef, alongside vegetable protein extracts, fish and fish derivatives, dehydrated tomatoes and a small amount of rice. The turkey recipe carries 4% turkey, with dehydrated carrots and fish derivatives alongside. Our card does not break down the chicken recipe's composition in the same detail.

• 6 x 45G pouches, three named flavours: chicken, beef, turkey
• Beef and turkey each named at 4% of their recipe
• Moisture 87%, protein 8%, fat content 1.5%, crude ash 1.5%, crude fibre 0.2%
• Feeding guide: up to one pouch a day, as a complement to dry food

On the name on the pouch. Where the card gives a figure, the named meat — beef, turkey — sits at 4% of that flavour's recipe, with fish derivatives and vegetable protein extracts making up more of the rest.

Who it's for: owners feeding an adult cat who want a broth-style pouch alongside a dry food, rather than as the sole meal.
