Vegetables in a cat's bowl are not there for the cat's benefit in the way they would be for a dog — cats are obligate carnivores — but a named vegetable at least tells you something specific is in the jelly rather than colouring alone.

The four recipes here each pair a meat with a named vegetable, except the last, which pairs two meats: beef with tomato (beef 4%), chicken and carrot (chicken 8%), duck and spinach (duck 4%), and lamb and game (lamb 4%, game 1%). The vegetable content is stated precisely for three of the four — tomato 0.9% dehydrated (11% once rehydrated in the jelly), carrot 0.7% dehydrated (8.5% rehydrated), spinach 0.3% dehydrated (4% rehydrated) — served as a complete wet meal for adult cats.
