Full description

A reptile kept without the right UV light can look perfectly healthy for months before a calcium deficiency shows up, which is exactly why the bulb matters as much as the food bowl.

Exo Terra's UVB100 is a 3% UVB T5 Very High Output bulb, 34 inches long and rated at 39W, built for nocturnal, crepuscular and shade-dwelling species — what Exo Terra call Ferguson Zone 1, the Cryptophotic Zone. Its Sunergy phosphor blend is designed to replicate part of the natural solar UVB spectrum, and it's recommended for use with Exo Terra's own T5 Terrarium Top fixture.

On which reptiles need it. 3% UVB is a low output for a Ferguson Zone 1 species specifically — Exo Terra don't give guidance for other zones on this card, so check what zone your particular species needs before assuming this is the right strength bulb.

Who it's for: keepers of nocturnal, crepuscular or shade-dwelling reptiles, amphibians or invertebrates, using or upgrading to Exo Terra's T5 fixture.

Exo Terra Reptile Uvb100 T5 39w Bulb

Why we chose it

The 3% output matters because a Zone 1 species can be harmed by a stronger bulb sold for baskers — this isn't the bulb to reach for by default just because it's UVB. It's specifically built to pair with Exo Terra's own T5 Terrarium Top, so it's the safer choice if that's the fixture you already run.
