All about this product

Product description

The tedious part of deshedding is not the brushing, it is stopping every thirty seconds to pull a wad of fur off the bristles and find somewhere to put it down. A retracting head removes that step entirely. Press the button, the pins withdraw below the surface of the pad, and the whole mat of collected fur lifts away in one piece, straight into the bin.

The pins are fine and angled with rounded tips, so they slip through the topcoat and lift loose undercoat while the rounded ends massage rather than scratch the skin, which is the reason a lot of cats settle into it and start leaning in for more. The brush head measures 20 by 8.5cm, a sensible size for a cat: wide enough to cover a flank in a few strokes, narrow enough to work down a leg or around the shoulders without catching.

  • One-click button retracts the pins to release collected fur
  • Fine angled pins with rounded tips
  • Head measures 20 x 8.5cm
  • Lifts loose undercoat before it sheds around the home
  • Three colourways: blue and white, orange and white, black and white
  • Suits medium and long-haired cats

Two things to watch. Rounded tips are gentler than a bladed deshedder, but any fine-pinned brush will pull if you drag it through a knot, so tease tangles apart with your fingers before the brush goes anywhere near them. And there is such a thing as too much deshedding: working the same patch over and over thins the coat and irritates the skin underneath, so a few minutes every couple of days does far more good than one long session a month.

Who it's for: Owners of medium or long-haired cats who want the moult under control without picking fur out of a brush every few strokes.

Why we chose it

The tedious part of deshedding is stopping every thirty seconds to peel fur off the bristles. Press the button and the pins drop below the pad, so the whole mat lifts off in one piece. Head is 20 by 8.5cm, sensible for a cat.
