An empty tank looks like a container; a tank with something to swim through looks like an environment. Ornaments do more than decorate an aquarium - they give fish somewhere to explore and, for some species, somewhere to feel less exposed.

This Classic Driftwood Arch is made from polyresin, hand made and hand painted with non-toxic paints, and designed to fit into a range of aquatic scenes. Its detailed soft planting is built to move with the water column, adding visual interest for both the fish and whoever's watching the tank. The archway measures roughly 240 x 90 x 180mm overall.

• Suitable for a range of aquatic scenes

One thing worth knowing. "Approximately" is the manufacturer's own qualifier on the size, since these are hand made pieces rather than machine-moulded to an exact tolerance, so expect very minor variation from one piece to the next.

Who it's for: aquarium keepers wanting a decorative archway with some habitat value, particularly if the tank benefits from more places for fish to swim through or shelter near.
