Bugalugs Styptic Blood Stop Powder

A nail clipped too short bleeds out of proportion to how serious it actually is, and the panic that follows usually does more to prolong an evening than the cut itself.

This powder is Sodium Carbomer — the only ingredient listed — applied either with a cotton applicator to the cut nail or superficial cut, or by dipping the nail straight into the tub, then holding moderate pressure for around 10 to 15 seconds until the bleeding stops. It's designed for nail clipping, wing trimming and minor cuts on dogs, cats and small animals. It comes in a 50g tub.

Where the job goes beyond this. Bugalugs are explicit that this is for external, superficial use only — not deep wounds or body cavities — and their own instruction is to contact a vet if there's no improvement. A cut bleeding for longer than the powder can manage is past what a styptic powder is for.
