A garden bird feeding on a cold morning is working against the clock as much as against hunger, and a suet ball that Bucktons say feeds twice as fast as a standard energy ball is aimed squarely at that — more energy delivered in the time a bird actually has to feed.

These are enriched with peanuts and sunflower seeds to increase oil content, and Bucktons describe the texture as super soft, so even smaller beaks can feed easily. The pack contains 150 balls.

• Feeds twice as fast as Bucktons' standard energy balls, per the manufacturer
• Enriched with peanuts and sunflower seeds for increased oil content
• Super soft texture, for smaller beaks
• 150 balls per pack

On the claim. "Feeds twice as fast" is Bucktons' own comparison against their standard suet ball, not an independently measured figure, so treat it as a manufacturer description of the enriched recipe rather than a tested statistic.

Who it's for: anyone feeding a garden with a mix of bird sizes, where a softer, richer suet ball benefits smaller beaks as much as larger ones.
