Hairless cats have no coat to trap heat, and a room that feels perfectly comfortable to you can be genuinely cold to a Sphynx. That is the situation this fleece is built for: a soft lined hoodie covering the back and chest indoors, with a roomy hood that sits down as a collar when it is not up. There is a reason the photographs show it modelled on a Sphynx rather than a dog.

Fleece is the right material for indoor warmth specifically. It is light, it holds warm air against the skin, and it does not need to be waterproof because it is not going out in the rain. The hood is generous rather than tight, and a small badge detail sits on the front. Five sizes are listed, from extra small up to extra large, which covers cats and genuinely small dogs rather than anything broad through the chest.

• Soft fleece with a lined body
• Roomy hood that folds down as a collar
• Badge detail on the front
• Five sizes, XS through to XL
• Garment weight between 100g and 140g depending on size
• Suits hairless cats and small short-coated dogs

One correction to the manufacturer's copy. The description supplied with this item talks about chilly walks, adjustable fastenings and British weather — that text belongs to a different product. This is an indoor fleece hoodie, not a weatherproof coat, and it will soak through in rain. We hold only the packed dimensions rather than garment measurements, so send us a chest girth behind the front legs and we will measure the size you want before it ships.

Who it's for: Sphynx and other hairless cat owners, and people with small short-coated dogs who shiver on the sofa in an ordinary front room.
