Specifications

Brand: Bestpets

Full description

Some feeders exist purely to top up a mixed blend with one seed a particular species keeps going for, and dark stripe sunflower seed is one of the classic choices for exactly that — a single ingredient rather than a formulated mix.

Bestpets sell this as a straight, described as a high energy food suitable for feeding all birds, with high levels of both oil and fibre. There's nothing else blended in — the bag is dark stripe sunflower seed and nothing else.

Single ingredient: dark stripe sunflower seed
Described as high energy, with high oil and fibre content
May contain nuts
15KG sack

One thing worth knowing. No protein, oil or fibre percentage is published for this seed — "high levels" is Bestpets' own description rather than an analysed figure. If you want a number to weigh it against another feed, this card doesn't supply one.

Who it's for: owners already feeding a mixed blend who want to top it up with plain sunflower seed for the species that favour it, rather than someone looking for a complete feeding solution in one bag.

Why we chose it

A straight seed rather than a pre-made blend is exactly what you need if you're trying to boost one ingredient other feeders are already going for, rather than starting again with a new mix. At 15kg it's a proper bulk top-up rather than a small bag that runs out fast.
