Wild bird mixes change hands between brands more often than shoppers realise, and this is a case where the recipe itself hasn't moved even though the name on the bag has.

Berry Traditional Wild Bird is an 8-seed blend of wheat, cut maize, small seeds, yellow millet, black sunflower, red millet, red dari and safflower seed. It was previously sold as Marriage's Wild Bird Food and now sits under Berry Feeds' own range of wild bird foods and treats, described as a great-value, all-season mix.

• 8-seed blend: wheat, cut maize, small seeds, yellow millet, black sunflower, red millet, red dari, safflower seed
• All-season mix
• Previously sold as Marriage's Wild Bird Food
• Now part of the Berry Feeds range

What the label doesn't say. Berry don't publish a protein, fat or energy analysis for this mix, and there's no species-specific breakdown of which birds it particularly suits — it's marketed as a general, value all-comers mix rather than a targeted blend.

Who it's for: anyone who bought this under its old Marriage's name and wants to know it's the same recipe, and anyone after a straightforward, no-frills seed mix rather than a premium multi-seed blend.
