A dog that's fine on an ordinary evening can turn into a different animal the moment fireworks start or the vet's door opens, and it's rarely something training alone fixes.

Beaphar's StressLess Herbal Calming Spot-On uses Valerian, a herb associated with calming effects, applied as a spot-on that Beaphar say takes effect within one hour and gives up to one week of calming support per application. The pack contains 3 pipettes, giving up to 3 weeks of use, and it's suitable for dogs and puppies of all ages and breeds.

• 3 pipettes per pack (up to 3 weeks' use)
• Contains Valerian
• Beaphar say it takes effect within one hour
• Up to one week of support per application
• Suitable for dogs and puppies of all ages and breeds
• For use at home or on the go

On what it's for. This is a calming aid rather than a treatment for a diagnosed behavioural or medical condition, and Beaphar don't give us an exact Valerian concentration on this card. If stress or anxious behaviour is severe, frequent or getting worse, that's a conversation for a vet rather than something to manage with a spot-on alone.

Who it's for: owners of a dog or puppy who gets anxious around fireworks, vet visits, travel or thunderstorms, or who's showing stress-related chewing or marking.
