A vivarium's warm, humid conditions are exactly the environment bacteria thrive in, which is why cleaning the housing itself needs a proper disinfectant rather than the same spray you'd use on a kitchen counter.

Beaphar's Deep Clean Disinfectant Spray is built for reptile and amphibian housing, described as a highly effective, deep-cleaning disinfectant that kills 99.9% of bacteria and provides long-lasting protection against pathogenic bacteria including Enterococcus hirae, Proteus hauseri, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus, as well as viruses including calicivirus and influenza A. It's suited to cleaning and disinfecting vivariums, terrariums and equipment, including both plastic and glass surfaces.

• 750ml bottle
• Kills 99.9% of bacteria
• Long-lasting protection against named pathogenic bacteria
• Also effective against calicivirus and influenza A
• Suitable for plastic and glass surfaces
• For housing and equipment, not for use on animals

One thing worth knowing. This is explicitly not for use on animals — it's Beaphar's own instruction, and it's there because a disinfectant strong enough to kill this list of bacteria and viruses on a hard surface isn't formulated to be safe on skin or scales.

Who it's for: reptile and amphibian keepers doing a proper deep clean of a vivarium or terrariums between residents, or as part of a regular disinfecting routine, rather than a daily wipe-down.
