Full description
A broth-based pouch is closer to a topper than a meal in most ranges, and it's worth checking which one you're actually buying before assuming a 12-pack covers dinner every night.
This is Applaws' Chicken Selection in Broth, and the chicken recipe itself is 75% chicken breast and 24% chicken broth, with 1% rice. It's described as a complementary food, meant to sit alongside a complete diet — Applaws' own line is that it complements their complete dry cat food — rather than replace one, suitable for cats over 3 months. It analyses at 14% protein, 0.3% fat, 2% ash and 82% moisture.
- 75% chicken breast, 24% chicken broth (chicken recipe)
- Complementary food, not a complete meal
- Protein 14%, fat 0.3%
- Crude ash 2%, moisture 82%
- Suitable for cats over 3 months
- 12-pack, selection also includes ham, cheese and pumpkin
On the other flavours. The 12-pack is described as a 'selection' including ham, cheese and pumpkin varieties alongside chicken, but the composition and analysis we've been given cover only the chicken recipe — treat the other flavours' exact figures as unconfirmed.
Who it's for: owners who already feed a complete dry or wet food and want a broth-based topper to add moisture or interest, rather than a standalone meal.

Why we chose it
It's honest about being a complement rather than a complete food, which matters if you're relying on it as dinner rather than a topper. The chicken breast content is genuinely high for a broth-style pouch.
