A dog doesn't know it's Sunday, but a pouch named for a roast dinner is aimed squarely at the owner rather than the dog — the actual recipe underneath the name is a fairly ordinary meaty-chunks-in-gravy wet food.

This is a 12-pouch pack of WINALOT's complete wet food, sold as two recipes: meaty chunks rich in beef with potatoes and peas, and meaty chunks rich in chicken with potatoes and green beans. Each pouch is 100G. Reading the label closely, the "rich in beef" chunks are 14% beef within the meat and animal derivatives, and the potatoes and peas are each about 9% once you allow for the dehydration figures given — smaller shares than the pouch name on its own suggests. Moisture is 82.5%, protein 6.5%, fat 3%, crude ash 1.8% and crude fibre 0.1%.

What the name doesn't tell you. "Rich in beef" and "rich in chicken" describe 14% of the meat content, not 14% of the pouch, and the potatoes and peas named in each recipe work out to roughly 9% once the label's own dehydration figures are applied. It's still a complete food, but the name promises more of the named ingredients than the small print actually delivers.

Who it's for: owners feeding an adult dog who want a routine complete wet pouch in gravy, without expecting the named meat to be the main event in the bowl.
