Product description

Pond fish do not stop needing feeding just because a pellet floats away on the surface breeze, and sticks that soak and sink quickly are the practical answer to a windy pond rather than a design flourish. Tetra's pond sticks are built to soak fast and go down, which means less food drifting to the edge uneaten.

They are a complete food, formulated to cover the full nutritional needs of pond fish rather than being a supplement to something else. Protein sits at 29%, fat at 4%, crude fibre at 2% and moisture at 7%, with vitamin D3 at 1,714 IU/kg and citric acid, used as an acidity regulator, at 274 mg/kg. Tetra also state the recipe uses natural ingredients with no added preservatives or artificial colourants.

On what's missing. No calorie count is given on this card, and no feeding-amount guide either, so portion this the way most pond keepers do - little and often, watching how much is actually eaten before the next feed rather than measuring by weight.

Who it's for: pond owners who want one complete stick food for the whole pond and would rather it sink and get eaten than sit on the surface and eventually cloud the water.

Why we chose it

Sinking is the point of buying this over a floating stick, and on an open pond in any wind that is the difference between food the fish get and food that ends up at the edge uneaten. It is also a complete food, so it does the whole nutritional job rather than sitting alongside something else.
