Care matters with PVC. Wipe it down with a damp cloth and a mild detergent, and keep it well away from the dishwasher, the washing machine and anything hot. Heat is what warps and curls a thin PVC mat, and a curled edge is both a trip hazard and a place for spills to escape. Stored flat rather than rolled, it will keep lying flat.
