Specifications

Material: natural fibre (jute)
Brand: Supa
Material: natural fibre (jute)

Full description

A canary building a nest will use almost anything soft that's put in front of it, but not every material is safe for a bird to sit on or peck at, which is why a proper nesting felt exists rather than owners reaching for scrap fabric.

This is made from natural jute fibre, cut to a 5-inch diameter to fit most wicker and plastic canary nesting pans, and sold individually: the price shown is for one felt.

Fits most wicker and plastic canary nesting pans

One thing worth knowing. Supa describe this as good for canaries specifically; they don't give guidance on other cage birds, so if you keep finches or another species we can't confirm it's the right fit or material for their nesting habits.

Who it's for: canary keepers who need nesting material that fits a standard pan, rather than making do with fabric offcuts.

Supa Nesting Felt

Why we chose it

Ten in a pack means you're not buying one felt at a time every breeding season, and jute is the material breeders already reach for because birds take to it readily. It's a small, cheap thing to have in stock before it's actually needed.
