Some pets make a bed by moving every strand until it feels right, so loose nesting material gives them something to arrange themselves. Supa Nesting & Bedding Material is made from recycled hessian sacks, also called jute, for cage and aviary birds and for small animals.

The fibre can be added to a sleeping area, and the listing also suggests leaving some for wild birds in a garden nest box. Inspect it first, remove long fibres, strands and foreign bodies, then remove soiled fibres when the bedding is finished with.

• 40G pack
• Made from recycled hessian (jute) sacks
• For cage and aviary birds including canaries and finches
• Also suitable for hamsters, gerbils, rats, mice and guinea pigs
• Inspect and remove long fibres, strands and foreign bodies before use
• Store in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight

One thing worth knowing. This is loose fibre, so the maker's instruction to inspect it and remove long strands or foreign bodies matters before it reaches a cage or sleeping area. Change bedding once or twice a week as required, replace it when soiled, and keep the plastic bag away from pets and small children.

Who it's for: keepers of cage or aviary birds and the named small animals who need nesting or bedding material they can arrange in their sleeping area.
