A kitten will use whatever tray is in the room during its first week and then be remarkably opinionated about changing it later. That is the argument for getting the first one right rather than borrowing a washing-up bowl and hoping to upgrade in a month.

The kit is four pieces: the litter tray, a removable rim, a scoop and a double anti-slip bowl for the move onto solids. The rim is the interesting part — it clips off so a liner bag can be trapped underneath it and held in place, which is the difference between lifting a liner out and scrubbing a tray. Moderna give the sides an ergonomic shape to cut litter scatter, and make the whole thing from 100% recyclable premium plastics, BPA-free and non-toxic. It cleans with warm soapy water.
