A litter tray is the one object in a house that gets scratched on purpose, several times a day, for years. Everything else that wears out does so by accident. That is why the two questions worth asking about a tray are how the surface holds up to being dug at, and whether whatever you line it with stays where you put it — and neither of them is about the picture on the side.

This is Moderna's Hercules tray with its rim, printed in the Indy and Louise design, and it measures L 50.9 x W 39.2 x H 19.2 cm. The rim lifts off and clips back on, and its job is to grip a liner bag around the edge so it cannot be dragged into the middle. Moderna describe the decoration as an IML design, scratch and UV proof, and the plastic as BPA-free, non-toxic, premium quality and 100% recyclable. The tray is shaped to keep litter from scattering, and cleans with warm soapy water.

Does it come with a hood or lid?

No. It is an open tray with high sides and a removable rim. Nothing about a hood has been supplied.

Does it take liner bags?

That is what the rim is for. It lifts off, you lay the liner over the tray, and the rim clips back on to hold the bag around the edge.
