Cats evolved to take most of their water from prey and are poor at drinking enough from a standing bowl, which is part of why so many meet urinary and kidney trouble in later life. Moving water is the reliable trick: it looks fresher, it makes a sound, and it draws a cat over to investigate. This one runs it through a tap-style spout, which is about as tempting as a dripping kitchen tap without the water bill.
The tank is food-grade PC and holds 1.5 litres, and being transparent it tells you at a glance whether it needs refilling rather than making you lift the lid to check. The pump is near-silent, which matters, because a fountain that hums will be avoided by exactly the nervous cat you bought it for.
