A dog that shakes its head after a swim is trying to clear its own ears the only way it can, and a weekly wipe is the routine version of the same job done properly rather than left to sort itself out.

Each wipe is a bamboo-derived rayon cloth carrying a lotion built mostly of purified water, glycerin and aloe vera, with coconut oil, chamomile extract and a small amount of lactic and salicylic acid. Beco's method is to wrap a wipe around a finger and clean the visible outer ear — the flap and the entrance — using one wipe per ear. They suggest weekly cleaning for most dogs, more often for floppy-eared breeds or dogs that swim regularly. The pack holds 70 wipes.
