Beaphar FIPROtec Spot-On for Extra Large Dogs

Fleas are mostly not on the dog. The animal is where you notice them, but the eggs, larvae and pupae are in the carpet, down the sofa and in the gaps between floorboards - Beaphar put that at 95% of the lifecycle - which is the real reason people conclude that flea treatments do not work. This is a single spot-on treatment, and the active ingredient is fipronil. Beaphar describe it as a veterinary strength medicine and state that it kills fleas for up to five weeks and ticks for up to four weeks. It is cleared for dogs from 8 weeks of age weighing 40-60kg, which is the extra large band of the FIPROtec range. Beaphar also recommend using a household insecticide alongside it rather than relying on the pet treatment on its own.

The weight band is the specification, not a suggestion. 40-60kg is what this pack is for; a lighter dog needs a different pack from the range, and breed is a poor way to guess a weight. Beyond that, this is a veterinary medicine and the leaflet inside the box is the instruction - it carries the application method, the warnings and the contraindications, and none of that belongs on a shop page.
