A muzzle that stops a dog scavenging is only useful if the dog can still pant through it, which is the trade-off every basket design is trying to solve.

This is a thermoplastic rubber (TPR) basket muzzle, heat-reshapeable for a custom fit, with a padded nose piece and an adjustable neck strap. It includes a removable guard insert intended to prevent food and wildlife scavenging, stone eating and wound licking, while the basket shape still lets the dog pant and drink continuously.

On fit. Baskerville describe this as suited to longer-nosed breeds but publish no measurements against the size code — no snout length or girth range — so getting the right size means trying it against your own dog rather than reading it off a chart. Introduce it gradually with positive reinforcement rather than fitting it cold for the first time before a stressful situation.

Who it's for: owners of longer-nosed dogs who need to stop scavenging or wound licking specifically, rather than a general-purpose muzzle for short visits.
