Goats kept on forage alone can end up short on the vitamins and minerals a purely grazed or hayed diet does not reliably provide, particularly through pregnancy and lactation when demand goes up - which is the gap a complementary mix like this is meant to fill rather than replace forage entirely. Argo's Special Goat Mix is described as suitable for any goat, including lactating does and kids.

Argo's own description is that it provides a balanced, natural diet with the essential vitamins and minerals goats need, fed alongside forage and fresh water rather than as a standalone feed. No breakdown of individual ingredients, protein or fat content is given on this card - it is sold on being a general-purpose complementary mix rather than a specified recipe.

• Complementary feed for all goats and kids
• Suitable for lactating does
• Described as providing a balanced, natural diet with essential vitamins and minerals
• Fed alongside forage and fresh water
• 20kg bag

On what's missing. This card carries no composition list and no protein, fat or mineral analysis - only Argo's general description of it as balanced and natural. If you are managing a specific dietary need for a goat, particularly through lactation, it would be worth asking Argo directly for a full nutritional breakdown before relying on this description alone.

Who it's for: goat keepers who want a general-purpose complementary mix to feed alongside forage, including through lactation, rather than a formulated recipe for a specific condition.
