Care: Dishwasher safe

Full description

A cat's food bowl gets less thought than almost anything else in the house, and yet the wrong one is one of the more common reasons a fussy cat starts leaving food behind.

This is a white ceramic bowl in Ancol's Ear Dish shape, made for cats and available in one colour. Ancol note it is dishwasher safe, so it goes through a normal wash cycle rather than needing to be hand-cleaned, and the packaging is described as widely recycled as part of the brand's move to reduce packaging waste.

On the measurements. Ancol confirm the shape, colour and that it's dishwasher safe, but not a capacity, diameter or weight for this dish — if the exact size matters for where it needs to fit, that measurement has not been supplied to us.

Who it's for: cat owners after a simple, easy-to-clean ceramic bowl rather than a plastic one that scratches and holds odours over time.

Why we chose it

Ceramic doesn't hold smells or scratch the way plastic bowls do over time, which matters more for a cat's food bowl than most owners realise until they switch. Dishwasher-safe is the other half of the case — it needs no special hand-washing routine.
