Beagle weight chart
A fully grown Beagle typically weighs somewhere between 8 and 14kg, and most reach close to that adult weight by around nine to twelve months old, with their frame continuing to fill out a little until roughly fifteen months. Reading a chart is about spotting a dog well outside that pattern, not matching an exact figure at an exact age.

Beagle weight by age
Beagle puppies are small at birth, typically well under half a kilogram, and grow quickly through the first few months. Most are around half their adult weight by roughly four months old, then continue growing at a steadier rate through the rest of the first year.
By around nine to twelve months, most Beagles are close to their adult weight, though some continue to fill out slightly through the chest and frame until closer to fifteen months. Because Beagles are a relatively small breed, their growth window is shorter overall than it would be for a large or giant breed.
Reading the chart against your own Beagle
Individual Beagles vary within that 8 to 14kg adult range depending on sex, build and genetics, so sitting toward either end of it is not automatically a concern on its own. What matters more is a steady growth curve rather than sudden jumps, plateaus, or weight loss.
Beagles are also a breed prone to overeating and weight gain once fully grown, so keep an eye on body condition into adulthood as well as during the growing months. If your Beagle's weight seems to be tracking well outside the expected pattern at any stage, a vet check is worth having.
Common questions
- How much should a 6 month old Beagle weigh?
- Most Beagle puppies are well over half their eventual adult weight by six months old, though the exact figure varies with the individual dog's final adult size. It is more useful to track a steady upward trend than to match one specific number.
- When is a Beagle considered fully grown?
- Most Beagles reach close to their adult weight by around nine to twelve months, with the frame settling fully by roughly fifteen months. Individual timing varies a little between dogs.
- Are Beagles prone to being overweight?
- Yes, Beagles are commonly noted as a breed that can gain weight easily once fully grown, partly because of their strong food motivation. Keeping an eye on body condition and portion sizes into adulthood is worth doing even after the growing stage is over.
