Pet Sitters
Find pet sitters across the UK who visit your home or stay over, so your dog, cat or small pets can stay somewhere familiar while you are away.
This directory is new
We are adding pet sitters town by town. If you are one, list your business free and you will be among the first shown in your area.
Visits, or someone living in?
Cats often cope well with one or two visits a day, because they stay in their own territory. Most dogs need more company than that, so for a dog the choice is usually several visits a day, an overnight sitter or boarding. Ask exactly how long each visit lasts.
Check what is in place
Home boarding, where your dog stays in the sitter’s own house, needs a council licence in England. A sitter who comes to your home does not, so insurance, a DBS check and references are what tell you they can be trusted.
Leave a written care sheet
Feeding amounts, medication times, your vet’s phone number and permission for treatment up to an agreed amount stop a sitter guessing in an emergency. A sitter who asks for all of this before you go is a good sign.
