Puppy Treats

Puppies earn a lot of rewards in a day, so their treats need to be tiny, quick to eat and appropriate for growing teeth. A pea-sized piece is usually plenty.

Check the minimum age on the pack

“Dog treat” does not automatically mean “puppy treat.” Recipes made for puppies state a minimum age and use a size and texture suited to younger mouths. We keep the pack guidance on each product page so you can check before ordering.

Hard adult chews can be too much for changing teeth. If a chew cannot be marked with a thumbnail, supervise closely and follow the maker’s age guidance.

Reward often without accidentally adding a meal

Cut or tear treats into very small pieces and use part of the puppy’s measured food allowance for easy repetitions. The puppy learns from the timing and frequency, not from the size of each reward.

Everything here is chosen to be genuinely useful in everyday life with your pet — quality-checked, fairly priced and shipped tracked across the UK. For any health concern, your vet is always the best first port of call.

Common questions

What age can a puppy have treats?

Use the minimum age printed by the manufacturer. Many soft puppy treats are suitable from eight weeks, but the individual pack is the authority.

How many treats can a puppy have?

Keep extras to roughly ten percent of daily calories and make each reward tiny. Use measured kibble for some easy training to avoid overfeeding.

Are adult dental chews suitable for puppies?

Only when the pack says so. Adult chews may be too hard, too large or nutritionally inappropriate for young dogs.
