Dog food auto delivery: what it actually means
"Auto delivery" usually means a shop automatically re-sends and re-charges for a product on a schedule you set, so you never have to remember to reorder. It is a genuinely useful idea for something you buy on a predictable cycle, like dog food, and it is worth knowing exactly what is and is not available before you build a routine around it.
What auto delivery solves
The problem auto delivery solves is running out. A medium dog on a standard dry food can get through a large bag in a few weeks, and it is easy to lose track of exactly when the bag will empty until it does, usually on a weekend when reordering and waiting for delivery is least convenient.
The honest way to avoid that without any automated system is simply to reorder a little earlier than feels necessary — when a bag is around a quarter full rather than nearly empty — and to keep an eye on how quickly your particular dog gets through a bag, since it varies more between individual dogs than the pack guide alone suggests.
What we offer today
Every order at Giddy Pets today is a one-off purchase — you choose the product, check out, and it is despatched. On food product pages you can select a preferred delivery cadence, such as every four or eight weeks, and doing so lets us know you are interested and email you when scheduled repeat delivery becomes available, but it does not currently create a recurring order or charge anything automatically.
That is a deliberate, honest distinction rather than a technical limitation we are hiding: selecting a cadence today records your interest, nothing more, so you will never be charged on a schedule you did not explicitly agree to at the time.
Choosing between formats while you wait
If a fully automatic subscription is not there yet, the practical alternative is picking the largest bag size your storage and your dog's use-by timeline genuinely support, which cuts down how often you need to reorder in the first place, and comparing the price per kilogram between bag sizes rather than assuming bigger is always cheaper per portion.
Wet food and pouches are less suited to bulk-buying in the same way, since an open tray or pouch needs using within a day or two once opened, so for wet feeders a smaller, more frequent reorder pattern tends to work better than trying to stockpile.
