Food across very different tanks and ponds
Tetra's food range is split by the animal and the setup rather than sold as one product — flakes and sticks for everyday tropical and goldfish tanks, dedicated pond sticks and pellets sized for outdoor fish, and specialist foods like spirulina wafers for algae-eating species or ReptoMin for aquatic reptiles and amphibians.
Picking the right one comes down to matching the food to the fish you actually keep rather than the brand name alone — a pond stick is not interchangeable with a tropical flake, since the size, buoyancy and nutritional balance are built for different feeding behaviour.
Water care, not just food
The other half of the range worth knowing about is water treatment — products like Aquasafe and Crystal Water are designed to make tap water safe for fish or to clear cloudy water, and a test kit is worth having alongside any new setup to check the water chemistry is actually stable before relying on it.
None of this replaces regular water changes or a properly cycled tank, but used correctly it takes some of the guesswork out of keeping water conditions steady between them.
A dechlorinator is the one product worth treating as non-negotiable rather than optional, since tap water straight from the mains contains chlorine or chloramine that is genuinely harmful to fish, and it needs treating every time you top up or change water, not just when setting a tank up for the first time.

- Pond food is formulated and sized for outdoor pond fish and often floats or sinks differently to suit feeding at the surface in open water, while tropical flakes and sticks are designed for the feeding habits of fish kept in a heated indoor tank. They are not interchangeable.
- Do I need a water conditioner if I already have a filter?
