Monthly dog food delivery

We don't currently run a formal subscription or auto-delivery scheme, so if that is specifically what you are after, this is the honest answer rather than a sales pitch dressed up as one. What we can genuinely help with is buying a size and frequency that works out sensibly, and setting your own simple monthly reminder to reorder.

Why we're not pretending to offer a subscription

It would be easy to write this page as though a monthly plan already exists here, but our own editorial standards rule that kind of claim out — we would rather tell you plainly what is and is not available than have you discover the gap at checkout.

What does exist is straightforward ordering whenever you need it, and a range of pack sizes that make it easy to buy roughly a month's worth in one order if that is how you want to plan.

Working out what actually counts as good value

The number that matters when comparing dog food is price per kilogram, not the price on the front of the pack — a larger bag is very often cheaper per kilogram than the same food in a smaller size, so buying to roughly match a month's feeding can genuinely save money over buying little and often.

Work out roughly how much your dog eats a day from the feeding guide on the pack, multiply by thirty for a rough month's supply, and compare that figure across pack sizes rather than comparing sticker prices in isolation.

Setting up your own reminder

A simple calendar reminder set for a few days before you expect to run out does the job of a subscription without committing you to a fixed schedule that does not always match how quickly a bag is actually used, which varies with your dog's size, activity and appetite.

Buying slightly ahead of running out, rather than waiting until the bag is empty, also gives you a buffer for the odd day when an order takes a little longer than expected to arrive.

Common questions

Does Giddy Pets offer a dog food subscription?
No, not currently. We don't run a formal subscription or auto-delivery scheme, and we would rather say that plainly than imply we do just because it is a popular thing for a pet shop to offer these days.
What's the best way to buy a month's worth of dog food?
Work out roughly how much your dog eats daily from the feeding guide on the pack, multiply by thirty, and choose the pack size that gets you closest to that figure at the best price per kilogram, rather than buying whatever size happens to be in front of you.
Is a bigger bag always cheaper per kilogram?
Usually, but not always — it's worth checking the actual price per kilogram on each size rather than assuming, since it can vary by brand and by which sizes happen to be on offer at the time.
How do I avoid running out of dog food unexpectedly?
A simple calendar reminder set for a few days before you expect the current bag to run out works well, giving you a small buffer in case an order takes a little longer than usual to arrive.
