A 15kg bag of dog food is the large-format option most brands offer alongside smaller sizes, and it generally works out cheaper per kilogram than buying the same food in 2kg or 5kg bags. Whether that saving is worth it depends less on the price and more on whether you have somewhere dry to store it and a dog, or dogs, who will get through it before it goes stale.
Who a 15kg bag actually suits
Multi-dog households and larger dogs are the obvious fit, since a big dog on a large bag can work through 15kg in a matter of weeks rather than months. The saving on a large bag is usually real but modest, and it only holds up if the food gets eaten while it is fresh.
If you are trying a new food for the first time, a smaller bag is the sensible starting point regardless of the eventual saving, so you are not left with over a dozen kilograms of a recipe your dog turns out not to get on with.
Splitting a large bag between two dogs
A 15kg bag naturally suits a multi-dog household well, provided every dog eating from it does genuinely well on that same recipe — a bag bought for one dog and quietly shared with another who has different needs is a common way a food ends up not quite suiting either of them.
If your dogs have different requirements — one on a joint-support senior recipe, say, and another a young, active adult — it is usually simpler and more appropriate to buy two smaller, correctly matched bags than one large bag intended as a compromise.
