Removing a tick the wrong way — by squeezing or pulling — can increase the risk of infection. The Tick Twister from O'Tom is designed to do it properly: the angled hook cradles the tick's body without compressing its abdomen, and a smooth twisting motion detaches the tick cleanly, complete with its mouthparts.

The shaped handle makes it comfortable to hold even when nerves are running a little high, and the tool can be used in whichever rotational direction feels most natural to you.
