Tofu litter answers two complaints at once: the dust that clay throws up every time a cat digs, and the weight of hauling a sack of it home. Pressed from tofu residue into short pellets, it clumps hard and quickly, and the clump lifts out in one piece rather than crumbling halfway to the bin. This blend adds sodium mineral sand for clumping strength, cassava as a binder, and bio-enzyme granules that work on odour rather than masking it.

Grain size is the part that matters if you run an automatic tray. Long pellets jam a sifting rake and bridge across a filter grid, which is precisely how those machines fail; short grains fall through cleanly. The same cut helps in an ordinary tray too, since less of it gets flicked over the side and less lodges between toes to be carried through the house. The enzyme granules run through the whole litter bed rather than sitting on top as a scented layer.

• Short-grain mixed formula
• Tofu base with sodium mineral sand
• Cassava binder and bio-enzyme deodorising granules
• Grain size passes through automatic litter-box filters
• Fast, firm clumping
• Works in manual trays and automatic units alike

This is litter, not a litter box. The description previously on this page described an automatic tray, which was simply wrong, and we have corrected it.

Who it's for: Multi-cat homes, where the rule is one tray per cat plus a spare, and anyone running an automatic tray that needs a fine-grained litter which will not jam it.
